What is Trash Club?

As we’re sure anyone reading this knows, the Treasure Valley is experiencing unprecedented growth. Though there are a lot of positives associated with growth, sometimes, with an increase in population, certain attributes of our community begin to slip. One of those attributes is urban cleanliness. You don’t need to look far to see other communities which experienced a drastic increase in population coupled with a drastic increase in litter. By making a proactive effort to keep our communities clean, we can not only help keep both our urban and rural ecosystems in good shape, but we can also set a cultural precedent that litter is not welcome in the Treasure Valley.

This is where Trash Club comes in. Originally founded as a student organization at Boise State University in Mid-2020, Trash Club is a Boise, Idaho based 501(c)(3) nonprofit with the mission of keeping Boise and the Treasure Valley litter free through litter pickups and community education. Trash Club currently hosts regular community litter pickups all around Boise and in surrounding communities that are struggling to stay free of litter. We try our best to make our community cleanups as effective and accessible to the public as possible.

Our hope is that by making a proactive effort, we can put an end to litter in the Treasure Valley and serve as a resource and example for other communities struggling with similar issues.

Mission Statement

Through our programs, Trash Club aims to provide a simple, yet meaningful way for individuals, families, and organizations to give back, and set a cultural precedent that litter is not welcome in our communities.
